Dear Friends,

Greetings to you and your loved ones from everyone at the Kitchen. More than thirty years have now passed since Jean Webster first began serving the hungry from her home in Atlantic City. When the number of people she served outgrew the size of her home Jean began serving at our current location in the First Victory Deliverance Presbyterian Church at Pennsylvania and Pacific Avenues.  This year marks the start of our third decade serving meals at that location. During that time we have served well over a million meals to our brothers and sisters in need.

Jean is no longer with us in person, but her spirit guides our operations every day. We serve a simple but nourishing meal to feed the body and treat our guests with dignity to feed their souls. Our guests include men, women, and children, homeless individuals, senior citizens, individuals with disabilities, veterans, working poor, and many others. Our doors are open to anyone and everyone who needs our support.

As we begin another decade of Jean’s ministry we look to the future with hope and thankfulness because of the faithful continuing support we have received from so many like you over the years. Our gratitude for that support goes beyond our ability to properly express it. Quite simply, you have made the work of the Kitchen possible. You have provided the support to feed those in need. You have helped give the least fortunate among us a sense that someone cares about them. And you have lifted the spirits of everyone at the kitchen through both good times and bad. Thank you.

We had hoped with this letter to be able to report that we were now established in a new home. But that is not yet the case. We are still working diligently with local authorities to accomplish a move and will keep you informed of our progress.

Until then we continue to serve meals to those in need as we have done for decades.  If you are able to once again support us by making a contribution to the Friends of Jean Webster it would be most helpful and we would be very grateful. To purchase tickets, donate a gift basket or auction item, please call (609) 266-7942 or contact Rev.
